Janice Alina James was born on the island of Curaçao on September 7th, 1964. She is the third child of Brictius Louis James (1934 – 2003) and Faith Margaretta James-Gumbs (1937 – 1995). Janice was raised in Curaçao, with three sisters and one brother. Janice attended Oranjeschool (Elementary), Mgr. Zwijsen College (M.A.V.O.) and Middelbaar Administratief Onderwijs (M.A.O.) Schools in Curaçao.
Janice migrated to St. Maarten on May 1st, 1988 and has been living on St. Maarten ever since. Janice has a fourteen year old daughter, named Che’Vonne, who is her pride and joy. From an early age, Janice loved to put her thoughts on paper. This talent grew as she matured and this project is a result of her love for literature in the form of poems and stories, which started at the tender age of fourteen.
